Real Answers from Real Owners and Robotics Engineers
Curious if a humanoid can navigate your home, handle fragile wine glasses, or stay quiet during bedtime? Ask questions, read verified owner field notes, and connect with people who already live and work with these machines.
Can the 1X NEO really climb carpeted stairs while carrying a laundry basket?
Yes, we have standard oak stairs with a runner rug. NEO navigates them autonomously at about 0.8 m/s using its head-mounted stereo depth cameras. For carrying laundry, the tendon-driven arms maintain basket equilibrium without sloshing or tipping. The maximum stair carrying limit is 12 kg, which is more than enough for a full basket of heavy denim and towels.
Important note on riser height: NEO easily climbs standard residential 18 cm risers. If your home has open-riser floating architectural steps, you should run the 5-minute SLAM mapping pass during unboxing so the depth sensor calibrates edge drop-offs.
